Temple of courage

Ryan had the guts to go......

This speed slide is for the brave at heart. There is a height restriction of 1.2 meters for safety reasons. The speed slide begins at the aptly named ruins of the Temple of Courage. Here swimmers drop a heart stopping 17 meters, equal to the height of a four-story building. They slide down a 70-meter long chute, hurtle under a bridge and gradually come to gentle halt, in the chute. It is completely safe, even though this slide looks and feels absolutely terrifying.

Here are some pics of Dave and Mike doing the Zip Slide at Sun City. Dave was so nervous that his knees were wobbling.

Bob and Jane

We had told Louis and Michelle about this wedding card we received from my cousin Bernie. I am sure they thought we made the whole story up. I found all our wedding cards in the massive cleanup we did and came across the card that told the story of Bob and Jane. It is a sympathy card...Bernie was never big on getting married. This was his "signature" at weddings.

So now forever we are dubbed Bob and Jane..

Project 365 - 4-10

So these are my next set of pictures for the year.

Day 4 was spent doing Ryan's grade R scrapbook pages, I loved capturing all the memories of his year. i added a hand print, self portrait, signature and future career aspirations (Spaceman)

Day 5
Amy's first day back at school. She is was so brave and almost cried and then swallowed deeply and went on.

Day 6
I was feeling rather stressed from looking after the kids and doing washing and cleaning all holiday so Simonne and I booked ourselves at a day spa. It was similar to Mangwanani but much cheaper and I thought much better. The place was called Vusalela.

Day 7
I almost forgot to take a picture and after going to bed remembered. I had made Nachos for dinner and so that was going to be it. I made Mince, Avo, Sour Cream, Cheese and Hot Salsa to go with it, delicious!

Day 8
On my Right is my new friend Dorothy. On my Left is Linda ( a very long standing friend and colleague). Dorothy came downstairs to see me and she brought her camera too to take a picture of me for her project 365. She was moaning about some person who go her into this whole deal. (As I remember it, she was not coerced at all!)

Day 9
Amy had her tonsils and Adenoids out as well as new grommets were put in. She was incredibly brave. I could not believe it. She was eating jelly tots 2 hours after the op and has not cried since she woke up from the anaesthetic! My little darling!

Day 10
Our "surprise" baby showere (Wally almost gave it up!) for Donna. This was the best baby shower I have ever been to. We had done so many special tings for Donna. The house was decorated beautifully with ivy and pink roses. We bought a kist to have everyone print a hand print on for her baby, we made scrapbooking letters with "M'A'D'I'S'O'N". It was a very special day. We are all so excited about the little addition to our lives!

Write soon!

A new friend of mine, Dorothy and I have decided to take part in a "Photo experiment". We have committed to taking one photo a day for the whole year. Since our "pact", I found the following web site and file to manage the project called - Project 365.

Unfortunately they were sold out before I managed to get one but i will continue and find a way to store them later.
So for the first three days of the year, these are my photos:

Day 1

Ryan and Amy just love swimming. I call the pool a cheap baby sitter of course I watch them but they don't seem as demanding in the pool). Amy loves jumping in, she is such a water baby!

Day 2

We went to Simonne for a braai. Quin was playing some music and Amy was dancing. Mike took the moment to have his first dance with his little princess. They were so cute, you can watch the video in the previous post.
Day 3

We are in the process of building a Lapa. Simonne and Quintin came over for lunch and we decided to sit under the incomplete lap. It was glorious, cool and smelt so good. I can't wait for it to be completed!

1st Precious moment of 2009

Mike took the opportunity to go on his knees and have his first dance with Amy, it was such a cute moment. One I am sure they both will hold dear for eternity!
