The Lion King

We went to see the Lion King last night. It was the best show I have ever seen. The costumes were spectacular, the stage props were mind blowing. I found some picture of the characters. My favourite is the Giraffe.....

If you have not booked...book now!

Highland Run

Situated deep in a valley just past Lydenburg....with no cell phone signal, long dirt roads and piece and quiet!

We left for Highland Run on Monday....and with that escaped to absolute solitude! It was glorious!

Simonne, Brendan and Jordan were first to arrive, we arrived later followed by Quintin, Mathew on Tuesday Wally, Hayley, Rhys and Hanna.

The mornings were cold.... The crazy men left at 5:30 am for fishing......we could only get the kids out of the house at about 10am...dressed in their warmest clothes...they had a ball!

Amy in her winter gear!

Jordan, Brendan, Ryan, Rhys and Amy having a picnic

When it warmed up the boys played a bit of soccer......

Army........

Guns......

Hannah spent the time learning to crawl...

Rhys was playing cars....

Mike, Quintin, Mathew and Wally were catching fish...

Hannah eating a ginger.....

Jordan painting......

or all of us just freezing!!!!!!!

Amy learnt loads over the week. She learnt to love bananas or "nana" as she calls it. Also I am no longer allowed to feed her, if I try, I get an adamant "NO!" and she grabs the dish. So in our little cottage we are guaranteed constant mess as she is not a neat eater at all (even though she opens her mouth so wide.)

On Thursday, Wally took all the girls and kids on a walk or "Adventure". We walked along the rivers, through the bush and back on the Road. Amy enjoyed it so much, she found feathers, stones and lots of DIRT!

Plans

So everyone keeps asking... "how far are you with the plans?"

We have asked Greg (a friend of ours) to do the plans. He knows us well and is an Architect by profession. We have been so happy with the detail and care that he has gone to get to the first sketches.

On the first meeting I thought we were going to have a problem. I am not very good at imagining things so everything I was shown I did not really like. Mike on the other hand seemed to like everything I REALLY did not like!

Anyway... Greg took out of it what he needed and started his methodical process of looking at the lay of the land, the views, where the sun rises and sets etc. He played around with a few options and finally presented us with these sketches.

It is soooooooo exciting!

Over the Chaos!

Wow..... what a stressful time it has been! We have just moved house to stay on the plot (Where we will be building) and are starting to get settled. Tomorrow we will find out how the traffic is.

So where this all starts is......

we were given the MOST fabulous opportunity to build on the property where Mike's folks and brother live. We jumped at the opportunity, put our house on show, sold it on the first show day with three offers to choose from and moved two months later.

The whole family has gone through a overhaul. We moved Dave (Mike's Brother) into a smaller cottage on the property, after having it painted and air con installed. We then painted, cleaned and moved into his cottage. Half our stuff is in storage, the other half is scattered between our cottage, Dave's cottage and the folks house.

After moving into the cottage... we realised that we were unlikely to get by with the cupboard space so we had new cupboards fitted this week. What a difference, they are wonderful. Dave keeps commenting on how nice the house looks... we just needed to stay two days to sort it out.

So if that was not enough... we decided to go on leave for the week after we moved (while the cupboards we being done) I'll post separately about that.
